As a Crested Butte General Contractor, Kurt Feltus and his Double Top Framing crew both handled a very challenging remodel and handled us as clients with exceptional expertise and care. The project was to install log ceiling beams and make them look as if they were built in when the home was constructed. Kurt's attention to detail was professional and exact, but more importantly, his problem solving skills resulted in the logs looking fantastic and no one can tell the beams weren't original to the house. The way each log imbeds perfectly in the outside log wall and the interior walls is amazing.
Kurt and his team also removed our large faux rock fireplace, replacing the cultured rock with a beautiful and natural moss and lichen covered limestone from a nearby quarry. The fireplace is absolutely beautiful. Our natural stone fireplace is now the focal point of our downstairs, engendering raves from everyone who has been in our home, and holding some of our most prized art objects.
The attention to the specific features we wanted in the fireplace was deeply appreciated and the final product is exactly what we were looking for - but were not quite able to articulate. Kurt facilitated us throughout the creative process. Plus, Kurt figured out a nifty bit of engineering and fabricated venting for the fireplace/furnace to the sides, maintaining the visual beauty of the fireplace.
Lastly, Kurt and his team repainted our entire downstairs. The paint job was literally perfect. Amazing. We are so glad we didn't try do it ourselves! And while we were away, Kurt even made sure the garbage got taken out to the road. He literally took good care of us while the job was underway.
We look forward to working with Kurt and his company on several projects over the next few year as we continue to make the home we purchased our own. We would recommend Kurt and Double Top Framing to anyone who has a challenging remodel or building project.
